Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women, accounting for nearly one in four cancers diagnosed in the U.S. Regularly scheduled mammograms starting at age 40 can play a key role in helping women survive this disease.

St. Mary’s Health Center will unveil its new breast-health technology and imaging center for women at an open house and ribbon-cutting from 3-5 p.m. March 15.

The St. Mary’s Women’s Imaging Center, located adjacent to the hospital in St. Mary’s Health Plaza, offers digital mammography, diagnostic ultrasound, bone-density scans with rapid results, most within 24 hours. Procedures are conducted in a soothing, spa-like environment with a nurse navigator available to provide information, education and support.

The center, designed by women for women, is located on the second floor of the St. Mary’s Health Plaza building, and has convenient parking reserved just for St. Mary’s Women’s Imaging Center patients.

The open house is free and open to the public. No reservations are required. The blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the St. Mary’s Women’s Imaging Center.
